Lake Geneva: The Three-Yacht Day, From Quai du Mont-Blanc

2025年9月14日5 min

Lake Geneva runs from Geneva to Villeneuve in a 73-kilometre crescent. A perfect day on the lake is the rare itinerary that combines exercise, dining, and sightseeing without ever feeling rushed.

Board a classic motor yacht at the Quai du Mont-Blanc at 10:00. Cross to Yvoire on the French shore for an hour of medieval village walking, captain on standby for the return crossing.

The classic loop

Mid-day, transfer to a faster day-boat for the run east along the Lavaux UNESCO terraces — the only stretch of working vineyards inscribed on a major lake.

Afternoon at the Château de Chillon by water — far more atmospheric than by car. Return run to Geneva via Vevey and Lausanne-Ouchy if the wind allows.

What to drink, and where

On board, a Lavaux white from the very vines you have been sailing past. Specifically, a Saint-Saphorin or a Chasselas from a single-vineyard producer. The chef will pair to the lunch course.

Sunset at La Réserve in Bellevue if you are returning by 19:30, or at Les Trois Couronnes in Vevey if you are staying east. Both are by appointment through our concierge desk.

The Quiet Letter

Once a month, a short letter from our concierge: new destinations, off-season opportunities, and itineraries we'd otherwise reserve for repeat clients. No marketing, no noise, ever.

The all-weather alternative

If the lake is too windy for an enjoyable crossing, we transfer to a Mercedes-Maybach and follow the Lavaux road from Lutry to Vevey, with stops at Lutry, Cully and Saint-Saphorin for tastings.

The day ends, in any weather, at the Beau-Rivage in Geneva or the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne. Both are within twenty minutes of the lake's edge by chauffeur.
